Who we Are
GESS Who! is the student association of the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS) at ETH Zürich. The association represents the interests of students in the following programs: MA in History and Philosophy of Knowledge, MA in Comparative and International Studies, MSc in Science, Technology and Policy, and BA in Public Policy.
What we Do
Our mission is to build a strong community across programs and cohorts in the D-GESS Department. We work to integrate first-year students who join any of the programs and to keep the community among existing students strong, by offering various student-focused events and resources. Our events encourage students to socialize with one another, share cultural experiences, and engage in activities with academic value. We take part in university policy discussions and foster networking opportunities for students. Alongside, we work closely with elected student representatives, who act as the voice of students in Teaching Committees and the Department Conference of D-GESS. Some of our social events include welcoming days for new-comers, summer and winter weekends in Swiss mountains, fun sports tournaments, end-year parties, social gatherings, ice skating sessions, quiz, bowling, and movie nights.
